Telesouth Signs Deal To Telecast Ole Miss Football On Replay Basis
Aug. 14, 2006 JACKSON, Miss. -
Steve Davenport, President of TeleSouth Communications, the rights holder for Ole Miss sports, announced Monday that his company has concluded a deal with Comcast Cable that will allow fans in the southeast to view a full game replay of Ole Miss football games this fall.
"This will be the first time in a number of years that a full game replay of the games will be available on cable TV," Davenport said. "With Comcast buying a number of cable systems from Time Warner, the replay of Ole Miss games will be available to over a million homes in the Southeast, including recently acquired cable systems in Jackson, Miss., and Memphis, Tenn."
The full game replay will air Sundays at 1:00 p.m. (Central). One exception to the weekly schedule is the Memphis game, which will be played on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 3, and carried nationally by ESPN at 3:30. The replay of the Ole Miss-Memphis game will be on Friday, Sept. 8 at Noon.
"Because of contract requirements between Missouri, the Big 12 Conference and Fox Sports, the Ole Miss-Missouri game will not be available for replay," Davenport said. The Ole Miss-Missouri game will be an 11:40 a.m. (Central) national telecast on Fox Sports Net.
Besides the full game replays, the Coach's TV shows, for football and basketball, will be shown on Comcast Cable, Fox Sports South and Cox Cable. Comcast will air the Coach's Show at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Cox Cable will air it at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
For those fans who want to hear the games, but are not near an Ole Miss Network affiliate, Ole Miss play-by-play action will be available Sirius Satellite Radio.
